What do YOU want from Gymnastics?
Twisters participates in two different leagues.
The first league is called NGA (National Gymnastics Association). These students compete at Levels Silver and Gold and compete locally (except during the post-season). NGA students train 4 to 8 hours per week. This program is great for a student that wishes to place high value into other areas of life and does not wish to spend too many hours training Gymnastics.
But, I want more?
The USAG Xcel Program is a Program within USA Gymnastics (USAG) and Twisters competes at Levels Platinum to Diamond.
Students in our Xcel Program train between 9 to 12 hours per week. Many of our Xcel students have moved on to compete Club Gymnastics at a College or University and compete in the NAIGC (National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs). As a family, we are HUGE supporters of this Program. We agree with the NAIGC motto, "For the Love of Sport".
But, I still want more?
Students who participate in our USAG Developmental Program are seeking a higher degree of discipline that, eventually, leads to Gymnastics being a "Lifestyle" or a "Discipline". These students are invited to the team and have been recognized for having an aptitude for Gymnastics. The goal is High Performance (Level 10 and Elite) and students train 7.5 hours per week (Level 2) up to 30 hours per week (Elite).
Our daughter, Remi, is currently a USAG Level 10 and trains 20-25 hours per week, depending on the time of year. Gymnastics has turned into her stress outlet, a personal craft, and a discipline that helps her grow. We're proud that she still LOVES Gymnastics.
